This is a mixed media collage and poem about life’s cycles decomposition and regeneration…
The Artwork: (Re/)Decomposition

The Poem: The Wet Earth of My Being
Here at the rushing stream
of our bodies,
the water unfolds and splits in two –
one cries, a million griefs gurgling
one laughs, ringing in a new love
The shore smells of decay,
of rotting leaves and mushrooms –
evidence of time, of cycles
and promises of new life.
I feel my own decomposition
the wet earth of my being
turning and teeming
new nutrients singing
the dampness awake
fading ghosts shouting stories
into two channels
of churning water.
They meet again
downstream –
one laughing, one crying –
mixing until the trees
cannot tell the difference.
