The Poem: The Space Between Endings and Beginnings

I am nothing
but I am everywhere.

I am the space
inside atoms
and in between cells.

The space
where the bitter
turns to wine,

where we salute
all that sank
into the sea.

I am becoming more concerned
with the spaces
in between words
than the words
themselves

the space between
yes and no
you and me
then and now
and next.

If being is born
of nothing,
I’ll take more
nothing, please –

I’ve had my fill
of everything

so fill me

with the space
where energy
occupies emptiness.
